In an effort to add depth to the nose tackle position, the Cowboys claimed Remi Ayodele from waivers. From DMN: The Cowboys have signed nose tackle Remi Ayodele to their 53-man roster Tuesday and placed Jason Ferguson on injured reserve. Ferguson suffered a torn right biceps in Sunday’s season opener vs. the New York Giants and will have surgery on Friday. Ayodele, the younger brother of linebacker Akin, was among the Cowboys’ final cuts coming out of training camp. The Cowboys hoped to put him on the practice squad, but he was claimed by Atlanta. The Falcons released Ayodele over the weekend, giving the Cowboys a chance to re-sign Ayodele. Ayodele, 6-2, 300, spent the spring playing in NFL Europa. He spent part of last year on the Cowboys’ practice squad before he was released. If the Cowboys wanted to add another veteran presence at WR with Reche Caldwell its too late, the loser Redskins snatched him up and will now Redskinize (destroy his career) him. Share

Let me just preface this post by saying I like Roy Williams, he’s a great guy, and makes some big hits, and makes big plays throughout the year; however, after last nights game, a majority of Cowboys Nation are ready to throw him under the bus or trade him. I am not on that bandwagon, yet. Yes, Roy cannot cover man-to-man, but what other strong safeties can? Ed Reed, and maybe Sean Dawkins, that’s it, out of 32 teams. I’m still on the fence on this whole debate, but lean more towards supporting Roy. I pose this question, if you want to get rid of Roy Williams, who would you replace him with? The Roy Williams Time Line 2002 was Roy’s rookie year and he was playing at FS, and Darren Woodson was playing at SS, but our starting CBs at the time were Mario Edwards and Duane Hawthorne. Roy had 5 INTS his rookie year, and was embraced by fans. We finished 5-11 that year. 2003 saw Parcells taking over as HC, and the Cowboys upgrading at CB by drafting Terence Newman, opposite Newman was Mario Edwards again. This would be the last season Darren Woodson would ever play. Roy had 2 INTS. Cowboys finish 10-6 with Quincy Carter at QB. 2004 Roy remained at FS, and the Cowboys

The fingernails are chewed off and my fingers are raw, who else has this problem? All I can say is WOW, what a game. It was a roller coaster from start to finish, with all the high drama of an action thriller. All I can say is that this game was won by four players that excel at their positions: Tony Romo, Marion Barber III, Jason Witten, and Terrell Owens Ok, I was wrong in predicting that Newman would play – he didn’t. But what I did hit the nail on was the Garrett Factor. I wrote a few posts back that this game would be won on offense, and which ever offensive coordinator could exploit the opposing defense would win the game. You can read “In Garrett We Trust” to get my prediction on the events that would transpire tonight, thank God! Garrett vs. Gilbride Sorry Gilbride, Garrett won this battle tonight. The offense was red hot, and firing on all cylinders. I don’t know what all the worries were either, this whole thing about the Giants getting the Eagles Steve Spagnuolo as their DC was a non factor. We tore up that defense. The Bad news of tonight comes from the defense. You saw the same game I saw, so let’s just be real, the defense sucks. Yes,

The defense played better through most of the 3rd Quarter, Spencer had some nice plays and pressure on Manning. Right now, this offense is all about Barber and Witten, they cannot be stop. Cowboys leading 31-19. The Cowboys need to finish strong now, here’s where we find out about ourselves. Share

1st Quarter blew, 2nd Quarter was better, Marion Barber III is the man, Witten continues to exploit the secondary of the Giants. The defense let up and let the Giants back in the game, and then Tyson Thompson fumbled and the Giants are right back in the game! MISTAKES, MISTAKES, MISTAKES. Where are the other WRs? Its been the Barber & Witten show all game. Very frustrating game so far. Share

Crappy game so far, defense has a new scheme story, secondary continues to eat. Hamlin making just stupid judgment with the penalty, THe WRs are not where they should be. Julius is stuck in neutral. Witten is the lone star. Share

The Cowboys season starts today. The Cowboys hobble into the 1st game battered and beat up at key positions, but are still expected to win this game. There are no excuses come kickoff time. On paper, the Cowboys still have the better roster. The key will be which teams wants this win more, the Dallas Cowboys or the NY Giants. Here are the Keys to Victory: Turnovers are atop the list. Which ever teams has the most turnovers will lose this game. This means, Patrick Crayton better not muff any punts, and better secure the ball after the catch. Crayton has been known to fumble after he trys to gain those extra yards, scary. The receivers better know their routes, so that Romo does not throw an INT where a WR was suppose to be. Romo better not fumble around with the snaps. Penalties will happen in every game, but you want to keep them to a minimum. Fast start, Strong finish are important. In the past, the Cowboys have come out and immediately sent out consecutive 3 and outs. We CANNOT have that. The first drive needs to be definitive and needs to end with a touchdown. Establish the run, but keep the aerial attack on pace. If we lead the game, we need to finish strong and put the Giants away.

If the Cowboys think they can fill their roster woes with cut players and street free agents, there’s something wrong going on at Valley Ranch. Take a look at this latest list of players the Cowboys brought in for a workout… WR Carlos Francis (Raiders) Arena Football League OL Terrance Dotsy CB Justin Phinisee (Chiefs) LB Torrance Daniels (Eagles) OL Andrew Hoffman (Browns) DL Alfred Malone (Texans) LB Tyson Smith (Giants) WHO?…Must be for practice squad purposes, because these guys are unknowns. Latest on Terry Glenn (AP): Terry Glenn (knee) is leaning toward having an arthroscopic procedure to remove cartilage from his knee. This would not be a permanent solution and could expose him to the risk of severely hurting the knee again. The arthroscopic surgery would keep him out a month while the more serious procedure would put him out all season. “I want to play this year, and I really feel I have chance so I’m really leaning toward taking the [damaged] piece out and trying to play this year even though I’m risking the rest of my career by doing that,” Glenn said Friday night. “I think that’s what I’m going to do. I’m

There’s no denying that this has been one of the most brutal preseason injury riddled seasons the Cowboys have had in years, and Terry Glenn is the latest to be injured, possibly the most worst off from the bunch. Key positions lack depth, lack quality and fans remain worried. Still though, Wade Phillips is having none of it and has relayed the message to his players: “As far as our team is concerned, it’s a blow certainly not to have him this ballgame,” coach Wade Phillips said. “We expected to have him. I’ve told them all along there are no excuses and we’re not cry babies. … There’s no crying in football.” Terry Glenn has a career threatening decision to make soon: According to sources, if Glenn has an arthroscopic procedure on his knee, he could miss a few weeks, but if he has a micro-fracture surgery, then he will not play in 2007 and his career could be in jeopardy. There is no guarantee the arthroscopic surgery will fix the cartilage problem. (DMN) I’ve been saying all along that between Glenn and Owens, Glenn has the most wear and tear and he’ll be the first of the two to call it a career. Unfortunately,

Well, the Saints are not contenders as projected to be. The Colts ripped the Saints for 41 points, complete destruction and a complete meltdown by Drew Brees. So, now that the NFL season is officially underway, we can get to more pressing matters – Terry Glenn. DallasCowboys.com had two articles earlier the first reporting that Glenn suffered a knee injury and that he would miss two games maybe more, soon after that, an updated article appeared and stated Glenn was lost for the season and stated: Jones said Glenn’s knee injury is similar to that of former Cowboys center Al Johnson, who missed his entire rookie season in 2003 following microfracture surgery. “You hate to see this with one of your top players and we need all of those we can beyond the field,” Jones said. “”It’s a real blow for Terry and for us.” Then the mystery began, because after that, the story reverted back to the whole “2 week or more” article. Either way you cut it, its bad news for Glenn and the Cowboys. The latest news being reported states that Glenn does in fact have a knee injury, and could be serious. The DMN states: According to several sources,

You can cross Terry Glenn off the Giants game, he’s developed a new injury, his knee. Great. Just Great. No reason to get too uproared; however, this is very disappointing and basically takes out the speedy deep threat Glenn brings to the table. IRVING, Texas – Three days before their regular-season opener, the Cowboys learned wide receiver Terry Glenn’s problematic right knee likely will force him to miss two weeks and possibly more, team owner and general manager Jerry Jones said late Thursday afternoon. Glenn missed all of preseason after having arthroscopic knee surgery Aug. 1 to remove a tiny cyst from the back of his right kneecap. The 33-year-old receiver returned to practice Wednesday but sat out Thursday because of what Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips described as swelling in his knee. Without Glenn, the Cowboys would have to rely even more on Terrell Owens, fourth-year veteran Patrick Crayton and second-year veterans Sam Hurd and Miles Austin. Crayton started three preseason games in Glenn’s place, with Hurd entering the lineup in three-receiver sets. The Cowboys also have rookie Isaiah Stanback, but the fourth-round pick is more of a developmental
