The game is over, and the first things that stand out are the defense. The defense showed a few different things tonight, and they stepped it up again with a strong showing on 3rd down defense. These guys are playing with a mission, more intensity, swarming to the ball. We’re seeing a whole other level of defense out there now. Jason Garrett has this offense firing on all

MVP of the 2nd half has to be CB Joey Thomas. Thomas furthered his climb up the ladder, and looks to be the #5 CB. The defense stayed solid with the #2s and other backups. Tyson Thompson is solid. Austin stunk it up again in the 2nd half, not sure what happened to him tonight. On the other hand, Stanback got on the field and performed Stanback made a TD. Here are my notes from the

The defense is going to be stout this year. The defense was able to man handle that Bronco offensive line, which are usually the guys delving out the punishment, not tonight! Swarming tackles are back in Big D. Miles Austin had a horrible 1st half. A lot of errors from the young WRs. Nick Folk connects on a 52yrd FG, Gramatica misses from 51yrds out. Here are my notes from the 1st

For those lucky to see the Cowboys vs Broncos game, you’re lucky. I’m stuck here in Houston, and we’re getting the Chargers vs. Rams. Lame. Kickoff: Texas Stadium, 7PM CST, CBS The game will be replayed on NFL Network on Sunday, 4PM CST. Here’s what NFL.com has on the game pregame report: IRVING, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos are done

Last time the Cowboys played the Denver Broncos was in 2005, in which the Cowboys suffered a gut wrenching loss on Thanksgiving Day. It was 21-21, and (then) running back, Ron Dayne busted through sloppy tackling for a huge gain, which put the Broncos in FG position for the win. Ok, so that’s last time. This time the Cowboys have a new defensive system where swarming tackles

If you missed the Fox Season Preview Special webcast a few days ago, you missed some great football talk. I must say, our boys, Aikman, Moose, and Coach Johnson are the most cerebral analysts of the bunch, and well versed on the current state of NFL teams – they represented. So, the juicy part of the webcast was when Terry Bradshaw asked about Terrell Owens and whether or

Kevin Burnett could be traded in order to find a suitable NT backup. As of right now, we have Ferguson starting, and virtually nothing past him. I’d like to see us get something done here. Team sources confirmed the Cowboys are looking for an experienced backup to nose tackle Jason Ferguson. They also would like a nickel back who could start if an injury occurred. The former

Looks like former Cowboys Coach, Barry Swizter, will be joining Jimmy Johnson and the rest of the crew on Fox’s NFL Sunday Pregame show. Switzer will also being a segment with Jimmy Johnson, where they discuss football and the BCS. Should be good stuff. Johnson said Fox colleague Terry Bradshaw will referee the debates. “Terry will keep us separated,” he jokes.

I’m calling it now, rookie Nick Folk will win the kicking battle. Yes Gramatica, has been doing well in all aspects; however, so has Folk. Folk is younger, has the stronger leg, and has made virtually all attempts. We are not going to waste a roster spot on two kickers when one of them can handle both duties. DC.com, has a good article on the latest between these two kickers: “I’m

The Cowboys have signed Arena League player, Jason Hilliard. Hilliard played for Colombus, and had brief stints in the NFL with the Packers, Giants, and Rams. Hilliard will provide some more depth through the rest of the preseason. Doug Free is expected to be out at least 2-4 weeks. DMN Blog gives us more info on Stanback’s slow progression. Sounds like the team will be very

Its never too early to take a look at some potential prospects for the 2008 draft. In, the 2008 NFL Draft we will enjoy the luxury of having (2) 1st round draft picks. Of those two picks, one has the potential to be a top 5 at best and top 10 pick at worst. I don’t see the lowly Browns winning more than 6 games this year. As for what position we may need to address in the
