All the speculation is now over, the ideas of having another head coach here are now dead in the water and that’s because Steve Spagnuolo has been hired as the Rams Head Coach, NOT Jason Garrett. The attention will now turn back to Owens. If Garrett would have left, Owens was pretty much assured another year or more in Dallas; however, now with Garrett back in town, Garrett

Looks like Jason Garrett will be introduced as the St. Louis Rams’ new Head Coach by tomorrow, and the Cowboys just announced they have canned Brian Stewart. None of this is surprising; however, as I said in previous posts, Jerry wants both Wade and Garrett here, if he loses Garrett, all bets are off on Wade’s job security. Jerry fired Brian Stewart, not Phillips. Jerry

Looks like the early rumors of Jason Garrett being a hot coaching prospect were just that – rumors. In fact, it appears that Garrett will indeed be back in Dallas for another season as the Offensive Coordinator. In addition, I’m going to make a prediction that Garrett will be the interim head coach at some point during the 2009 season. With Wade Phillips and Garrett

Things are going to get interesting here in the coming days I feel. Looks like Jason Garrett is now the leading candidate to take over the lowly Lions. From Detroit Free Press: He met with the Lions on Monday. …Now comes word that Garrett is the Lions’ leading candidate. Former NFL executive Michael Lombardi, on Showtime’s “Inside the NFL,” by way

Could this be the beginning of more changes coming to Dallas. Change seems to be the word of the year for Dallas fans, and Joe DeCamillis should bring an instant vigor to our shameful special teams unit right now. Looks like he worked with Phillips at his other stops as well, so there should be some trust and familiarity there. DMN Blog has more here: Wade Phillips’ first

I just came across this from The National Football Post: FIVE THINGS I HEAR…. 1. I hear the Cowboys are not sweating the notion of losing Jason Garrett to another team as a head coach.  They are actually hoping this might happen. {snippet} (NationalFootballPost.com) Michael Lombardi may know something we don’t, or then again, he may just be reinforcing what everyone

The Cowboys are on course for a disastrous 2009 season. Supposedly, Jerry Jones will consider the three biggest names for 2010, which will be Cowher, Holgrem, and Shanahan. With no changes in our current coaching staff, you can bet Jerry already has a plan for 2009, and here it is: - Wade Phillips will be on a 3-6 game leash, if we have a losing record early on, then Jerry pulls

As I said in an earlier post, Jerry gave us a crumb when he finally decided to fire Special Teams Coach, Bruce Read, but this is not enough, not even close. If you’re going to keep push over Phillips, then I suggest making these other firings: 1. Rick Herring: What a huge let down, the linebackers couldn’t wrap up anyone most of the season, and this needs to change.

Let’s revisit the bombshell announcement about Shanahan being ousted in Denver. I just realized that Phillips was the Broncos HC before Shanahan took over; so this being said, my original idea of Shanahan taking over as our OC if Garrett leaves would be more unlikely. The thing about Jerry is that he wants the two core coaches back, that being Phillips AND Garrett. Jerry wants

The amazing news of the day has Denver cutting loose ties with Mike Shanahan. This surprise firing adds some very interesting twists to the offseason now. Question would be whether or not Shanahan still wants to coach somewhere or does he want to take some time off. Rumors already have Jason Garrett has a hot target for the job. Word is that the Broncos are looking for a fresh start

From a fan’s point of view I’m going to eat some humble pie and officially admit that Coach Sparano’s departure after last season left a big void in our offensive system. So much focus was put on Jason Garrett bringing a new life to the offense last year, thus the 13-3 record and offensive explosiveness, but how much of the success last season was because of Jason

The Cowboys will be in the playoffs if they beat the Eagles, this is easier said than done. Basically, the Cowboys have to reverse all their December misgivings and take home a win on the road in hostile territory. I’ll be the first to tell you, I’m not confident at all that this 2008 squad can get it done. I’ll be more surprised than anything to come away with
