Cowboys Draft Prospect Visits Tracker 2014

I’ve been trying to keep up with the latest prospect visits the Cowboys have been linked to since the NFL Combine, so I’ll post up what I have so far. All of these updates have come from various sports outlets and twitter. I’ll update this post as more names come out. If you see a name missing from here please feel free to reply to this post and I’ll update

Cowboys Will Take a Closer Look at QB Garrett Gilbert

The Cowboys may be beginning to look for a future QB, and the process could start this draft. The Cowboys interviewed Johnny Manziel, Jimmy Garropolo, and David Fales; but, one QB the Cowboys seem to have the most interest in could be SMU’s Garrett Gilbert. The Cowboys were in attendance on March 28, and Wade Wilson was on hand personally to take a closer look. Wilson said,

Which NCAA Conference do the Cowboys prefer to Draft from?

With the draft just five weeks away, I wanted to take a closer look at the way the Dallas Cowboys draft. This took me a couple of days to break down, but the data is pretty telling.  In particular, I wanted to see from which NCAA conference the Cowboys like to draw players from over the past 10 draft classes 2003-2013. We’ll look at the Parcells, Phillips, and Garrett eras.

Is Morris Claiborne the Cowboys Draft Day Ammo?

During the annual NFL owners meeting, Jason Garrett was asked several questions and one interesting comment was made about CB Morris Claiborne. “We got to get Mo healthy,” Garrett said, according to a transcript from the Pro Football Writers of America. “We got to get him stronger. And keep giving him chances to go out there and play cause we feel like he has a bright future.” Regarding

Cowboys 7-Round Mock Headlined by Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh

The Dallas Cowboys started out free agency with a whimper, but have turned the corner with a few thrifty picks and the big signing of Henry Melton from the Chicago Bears. The Cowboys have a plan in place and have been executing it with precision. They are likely done signing any top tier, big ticket names, but we may see another addition here and there. For the most part, we are

Is Jerry Jones Eyeing Johnny Manziel at #16?

This weeks signing of Henry Melton shaped the Cowboys draft a great deal. Leading up to free agency the hot name attached to the Cowboys was Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh and rightfully so. Donald to the Cowboys at #16 made a lot of sense especially when Jason Hatcher jumped ship for the hated Redskins, but now with Helton our #16 pick could go to any position. The darkhorse pick

Poll: Will DeMarcus Ware be Released?

The Cowboys have notified DeMarcus Ware that they want to keep him, but at a lower rate. What do you think the outcome will be? Will DeMarcus Ware be Released? Take our quick poll now. We want to know what you think. View Poll To me, if Jerry Jones decides to let Ware go, then I would not be surprised at all to see Jerry roll the dice on a blockbuster trade. I’ve discussed

Cowboys Can Add One of These Defensive Ends in the Draft

The Cowboys have reportedly began formal talks with DeMarcus Ware, and they have let him know they want him back, but in a way that will help the Cowboys get under the cap. The Cowboys have always been creative with their contracts, so I would expect the Cowboys to lower his base pay, but with a decent sized signing bonus. Question is, how much will the Cowboys be offering Ware

Cowboys Have Other Explosive Defensive Tackle Options in the Draft

I wanted to take a closer look at the defensive tackle position for the upcoming draft, so I looked at all the prospects and broke down their numbers and came up with my top 8 “explosive” defensive tackles from the Combine. When looking at explosiveness you want to look at the speed numbers, and broad jump as well. No surprise Aaron Donald leads the pack in the explosiveness

The Latest Post-Combine Mock Drafts

There are ton’s of post-NFL Combine mock drafts out now, so let’s take a peek at who other media outlets are penciling in for the Cowboys. These mocks further illustrate how much impact a solid Combine performance can impact a player’s draft stock. Pre-Combine mocks were virtually split down the line between safety and defensive line, fast forward to today and

Cowboys 7-Round Mock Draft Headlined by DT Aaron Donald

The NFL Combine is over and we are now one step closer to the NFL Draft. The Combine helped solidify what we already knew about some players, but it also raised questions about some as well. If Will McClay is bridging what the Cowboys Coaches want and need, then I expect them to get some more speed on the field. I’m doing this latest mock draft under the assumption that DeMarcus
