Andre Gurode Voted to Top 100 Players of 2011

The NFL continued their series of The Top 100 Players of  2011, as voted exclusively by the players themselves. Tonight 60-51 were revealed, and tonight further solidifies Bill Parcells’ legacy in Dallas. Of all the Cowboys in the list, they were all drafted and/or molded by Parcells. Garrett and coaching staff won’t get paycuts during lockout, for now.

We’re approaching the June 3 ruling which will determine if the lockout is legal, which in-turn will solidify the owner’s stance on the lockout. The lockout could last a long time. Several teams have already been slashing their staffs and asking their coaches to take pay cuts. Greg Bedard (Boston.com) is reporting that seven teams have pledged not to cut coaches salaries

Secondary and Wide Receivers Coaches Remain Open

Its sounding more and more like the Cardinals will make a hard push to sign Ray Horton as their defensive coordinator; a promotion from his current position as the Steelers secondary coach. If this is the case, I’d think the Cowboys could take a look at Darren Perry, the Packers defensive backs coach. Perry worked with Ryan in Oakland as their defensive backs coach. Its obvious

The rumor is now official, Brian Baker has accepted the defensive line job offered to him by the Cowboys. This is a very very nice addition to the defensive coaching squad, I like this move coupled with the hiring of Rob Ryan. Watch out. The Dallas Cowboys have hired Brian Baker as their defensive line coach. Darin Gantt of the Charlotte Observer reports that Baker, who was with

As expected, the Cowboys are wasting no time and continue to piece together their staffs on both side’s of the ball. Today the Cowboys hired Matt Eberflus to coach the linebackers. Rob Ryan worked with Eberflus while in Cleveland. Next news should be the hiring of a defensive line coach and hopefully a secondary coach. Share

With the Pro Bowl in the bag this marks the beginning of the offseason for the entire team now. Its back to business come monday morning. Jerry, Garrett, and Ryan were on hand in Mobile for the Senior Bowl, so we may expect some other coaching interviews to take place here very soon. Not only was the brain trust on-site to scout players, but perhaps scouting some assistant coaches

In all the excitement of Rob Ryan becoming Dallas’ next defensive coordinator there also comes the reality that this could be a one year stint. Rob Ryan has great ambitions of becoming a head coach, and if anyone wants to get noticed, you sign with Dallas.Period. I see this marriage more of a stepping stone than anything long-term. The Cowboys will need to work closely with
